Efrain
Veiga,
founder
of
Yuca
restaurant
and
co-creator
of
Nuevo
Latino
cuisine,
and
partner
Billy
Bean,
a
former
Major
League
Baseball
player,
are
calling
it
quits
after
13
years,
and
there’s
already
some
scandal
resulting
from
the
split.
Veiga,
57,
had
Federico
Schostak,
26,
over
“for
a
sexual
counter”
on
May
15.
The
two
fell
asleep
next
to
one
another,
according
to
the
police
report,
and
then
in
the
morning,
Veiga
tried
to
wake
Schostak
only
to
find
he
wasn’t
breathing
and
had
no
pulse.
Veiga
called
911.
He
told
police
Schostak
had
been
drinking
from
a
bottle
of
water,
that
Schostak
claimed
was
spiked
with
GHB,
commonly
called
“the
date
rape
drug.”
The
Miami-Dade
medical
examiner's
office
is
awaiting
toxicology
studies
before
classifying
Schostak's
death.
Viega
and
Bean’s
Miami
Beach
home
is
now
for
sale
for
$1.595
million.
